In this class I will share 2 ways to use peyote stitch to bead on objects. The flat peyote stitch, sewn into a tube around the object and the gourd stitch which is the peyote stitch done in the round directly on the object. For this class we will use dowels but the skills are transferable to almost any object such as feathers, jars, bird’s feet, ropes, and so on.
From how to create a pattern, what to use as a base, how to add thread without knots, which style bead works best for your design, and of course the actual peyote and gourd stitches, you will leave this class with a finished project or at least the skills to finish it. No beading experience necessary.

This class will teach the basics of designing and crocheting tape lace. It is crocheted from thread and a very small gauge hook to create a lace that is long and ribbon-like. You can use tape lace for a variety of things, for example: add it to the neckline of a chemise, run a ribbon through it and now you have a decorative drawstring.it is also a great on-the-go project as it is small and easily carried about. You will leave this class with the beginning of a tape and the skills to finish it, as well as some ideas of how to use it. Beginner-level crochet skills needed (chain, slip-stitch, single and double crochet).
Please bring: scissors, stitch markers if you like to use them, and a crochet hook either 1.3mm or 1.5mm (we will have a few available)
